At a very encouraging meeting held on October 19th, members of the local community showed their strong support for this work and came up with many great suggestions as to how money could be raised, including: Crowd Patch; Tesco/Waitrose token schemes; Newbury Building Society; Coop; Tesco Community Champion; Englefield Trust; Stryker, along with such fund-raising events as a Quiz night at the Bowlers Arms; Children’s Literary Events, with visiting authors.

For all of this to happen we need individuals to help with fundraising. Can you help?

Book Exchange Saturdays 10am – 12pm

**nb Closed on 21st and 28th July due to maintenance work on the Community Centre. Also closed August Bank Holiday Weekend.**

Starting on Saturday 3rd February 2018, Wash Common Community Centre, Glendale Ave.

Over the Christmas Break, The Friends of Wash Common held a survey the results of which showed that many people missed being able to visit somewhere locally for books, to meet others and feel part of their local community. If you miss being able to get fresh books to read, then we have some exciting news for you. As of Saturday February 3rd, 2018, we will be running a Book Exchange on a Saturday morning 10 -12, at Wash Common Community Centre. Refreshments will be available, come and have a coffee and a chat.

Everyone is welcome to bring a book they have read and exchange it for any we have in our collection. Any donations of books before then, or on the day would be most welcome. Please get in touch here.

For those of you who haven’t answered our questionnaire and would like to show your support for the re-opening of Wash Common Library, we would still love to hear from you.

We raised over £150 at a recent coffee morning (over £300 when price matched).

We are planning to deliver leaflets in the local community – any help for this activity would be greatly appreciated.
